More Australians used the Internet to interact with Government than ever before in 2009. Releasing the report Interacting with Government: Australians' use and satisfaction with e-government services - 2009, Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Lindsay Tanner said Australians used the Internet to interact with Government more than any other method in 2009. 'By providing insights into the ways people access government services and their preferences for doing so, the Interacting with Government report provides a basis from which service delivery can be improved,' Lindsay Tanner said.

These multi-disciplinary intelligence teams act as a conduit for the sharing of criminal intelligence between those agencies, and they support investigations into serious and organised crime in the aviation industry by the dedicated Joint Airport Investigation Teams (JAITs).'.

According to new research, the Rudd Government's campaign to reduce harm associated with binge drinking among young Australians has achieved strong awareness, as another burst of advertising will ensure the Don't Turn a Night Out into a Nightmare campaign continues to remind people to drink responsibly over the holiday period. About 30 per cent said they had reduced their drinking as a result of the advertisements. The research is complemented by the latest Quantum Benchmark tracking reports (commissioned by Drinkwise) that shows a third of parents had reduced the amount of alcohol consumed in front of their children in the last 12 months 6 percent of parents had stopped drinking in front of their children and 14 per cent of parents indicated that TV advertising had been a factor in their decision to cut down or stop drinking in front of their children.
