PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER NEW FACILITIES AT RAAF EDINBURGH. Dr Mike Kelly AM MP, and the Member for Wakefield, Mr Nick Champion MP, announced today that a $99.56 million construction proposal for the redevelopment of facilities and infrastructure at RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia, has been referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works. The project will upgrade the bases existing facilities and infrastructure to support several Air Force squadrons, Dr Kelly said.

Mr Philip Green OAM has been appointed as my Senior Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security. Mr Green is a senior officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and a former High Commissioner to South Africa (2004-2008) and to Kenya (1998-2000). Mr Green will replace Gary Quinlan, who will be Australia's new Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) in New York.
